TfT Papua, bound by its values and vision, works with community groups to re-organise and to hold the policy makers accountable. TfT Papua realises that the power to change lies on the community’s ability to organise, to lead and to sustain the movement of resistance. Starting from change at individual level, TfT Papua aims at organisational change as the next step towards a wider community and societal change.
In Raja Ampat, TfT Papua works with Homestay Association, a membership-based community organisation representing more than one hundred and fifty members of individual homestay businesses. TfT Papua is assisting them in organisational revisioning and restructuring

TFT Papua’s partner communities in Numfor and Okaba of Merauke district are choosing to go back to the land. They are are reopening gardens they have long abandoned, because they became dependent on subsidised rice, and are once again growing their own traditional food.
In Okaba, among the wider Marind indigenous group, a small number of community members of Alatep village, reorganised and call themselves Paiya which, in local language, is an invitation to work together. Paiya’s priority is reconnecting with their ancestral land and promoting food sovereignty. They have become the source of inspiration to the emerging groups of organised change agents in other villages.
On Numfor island, in villages of Saribi and Submander, a handful of individual change agents have come together and reorganised themselves. They call themselves Fyarkin which means towards a better future. Fyarkin’s long term vision and mission set a strong platform for collective actions.
